DATE: Thursday 25th May 2023
TIME: 2:00-4:00pm
LOCATION: Services For Education, Unit 3, Holt Court, Birmingham, B7 4AX
Suitable for primary music leaders in schools who want to feel confident in their subject, and their role as subject leader. We’ll be asking questions and exploring solutions to the challenges in areas such as provision, progression and professional development.
Being the music lead can be creatively exciting for some, but a daunting task for others. This session will explore key aspects of the role, to provide support for music lead teachers, particularly anyone new to this role.
We will discuss three key areas:
1. Learning in the classroom – the school curriculum, progression and intervention, and lesson observations
2. Professional development and wellbeing
3. Music outside the curriculum
A series of questions will be used to gain a clear understanding of where you are now and where you want to be. These can be used today and in the future for reflection, refinement and development of the whole-school music programme.
This event is FREE to all Birmingham primary schools and will be led by Tim Bond, Regional CPD and Training Manager at Charanga.
